At each opening of this interesting and creative book, the left hand page gives Jenning's explanation of how he adapted some of his stories to become the first thirteen episodes of the television series Round the Twist. On the right hand page are three stories, two are new and the other, Lucky Lips, is retold from Unreal. The book can be read twice, concentrating on either the stories or the commentary. The fascination lies in discovering how and why various changes were made to the original stories and in examining the mechanics of Jennings' writing process eg Brainstorming, character notes, plot summaries, rough scripts, etc. Ideal for studying plot, character and story and script writing, this is also a wonderful stimulus for drama when combined with the three video tapes of Round the Twist and the earlier short stories. Highly recommended.
